Summary:

An October 27, 2026 US PlayStation check found Resident Evil 4 Standard Edition at $9.99, 75% off. The guide explains PS4/PS5 access, excluded DLC, player ratings and the November 5 cutoff.

Resident Evil 4's Standard Edition is $9.99 on the US PlayStation Store, 75% below its displayed $39.99 regular price. The October 27, 2026 price check covers the 2023 remake for PS4 and PS5, not the older version of the game.

Check the official Standard Edition offer. Sony lists the deadline as November 5, 2026 at 07:59 UTC, or 1:59 a.m. CST in Chicago. This is a paid digital game, not a trial or subscription rental.

Check the edition before paying

The purchase includes both PS4 and PS5 downloads through PlayStation's account-based licensing, not a PC key or DRM-free installer. The displayed sale has no PlayStation Plus membership condition. Separate Ways and the Extra DLC Pack are not included in this Standard Edition; Gold Edition includes them. Check your library first because the game also appears in bundles.

The discount is measured against today's store reference price, not the original launch price. We have not established a worldwide or historical low. Confirm the US account region, selected edition and checkout total before purchase.

Why this remake is worth a look

According to PlayStation's official overview, the remake rebuilds the 2005 game with revised controls, environments and story details. Leon Kennedy's mission to rescue Ashley Graham takes him into a hostile European village. It combines survival-horror pressure with action rather than offering a purely slow-paced mystery.

Weapon upgrades, inventory choices and knife parries give players different ways to handle encounters. That makes it a more natural candidate for someone who enjoys tense combat than for a reader mainly seeking relaxed exploration. Prior series knowledge is not required, according to the official FAQ. This is a deal guide, not a hands-on review.

Strong ratings are not a suitability guarantee

At this check, the store showed 4.74 out of 5 from 161,646 global player ratings with All Editions selected. That is a PlayStation customer aggregate, not a PS5-only critic score or WUPGames rating; totals can change.

Review the Mature rating and warnings for blood, gore, intense violence and strong language. VR is optional: ordinary play does not require a headset. The free PS5 VR Mode add-on needs PlayStation VR2 hardware, while the separately listed free demos are not the full game.

Buying takeaway: the base edition is the straightforward choice if you want the main campaign. If you also want Ada Wong's Separate Ways story, compare the final cost of the relevant bundle rather than assuming the cheapest base-game tile includes everything. Recheck the live offer before buying.
