**Summary:**

Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut was 60% off at $7.19 on the US Steam store on October 27, 2026. This guide separates the standalone game from paid extras, explains its strong English-language review rating and notes the November 9 date-only deadline and mature horror themes.

**Slay the Princess — The Pristine Cut is $7.19 on the US Steam store**, a 60% reduction from $17.99, in our October 27, 2026 check. For readers seeking a heavily discounted game with strong player feedback, this is a particularly relevant narrative-horror option: Steam labels its 24,222 English-language reviews Overwhelmingly Positive.

The offer buys the standalone game through Steam, not a trial, subscription entitlement or console copy. [Check the US Steam offer](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1989270/Slay_the_Princess_The_Pristine_Cut/?cc=us&l=english) before buying; the store lists November 9 as its end date, but an exact cutoff time and timezone were not verified.

## What the $7.19 purchase includes

Choose the single-game purchase labeled “Buy Slay the Princess.” The product page identifies it as The Pristine Cut and lists Windows, macOS and Linux support. This is a Steam-library purchase requiring a Steam account, not a separately supplied DRM-free installer. The displayed standalone discount does not require buying another game or joining a paid membership.

The same page also sells bundles, a Supporters Pack and a digital art book. Those extras are not included in the $7.19 standalone offer. Check the selected item and final checkout price rather than assuming every option carries the headline discount. Steam is the authorized direct store verified for this article; this is not a claim that no other retailer has a lower price.

## A story built around distrust, not reflexes

Black Tabby Games frames the premise around an unsettling instruction: a voice tells you to kill a princess imprisoned in a woodland cabin. Deciding whom to believe changes the story and the people within it. The appeal is questioning that instruction, exploring the consequences and discovering how different choices reshape familiar situations, rather than mastering an action combat system.

The developer's [official overview](https://blacktabbygames.com/press-stp) describes a voiced horror tragicomedy centered on perception and choice. The Pristine Cut expands that branching structure: Steam lists three additional chapters, expanded routes and a new ending. It is an expanded edition of an existing game, not a new October 2026 release.

## Strong reviews, with important limits

At the time checked, Steam's recent-review group was Very Positive across 556 reviews, distinct from the larger English-language review total. These are store aggregates, not WUPGames review scores; counts and classifications can change. Steam also marks the game Verified for Steam Deck, which is a platform compatibility designation rather than a performance test conducted by us.

Its subject matter is not light fairy-tale entertainment. The store warns about disturbing horror and suicide-related themes and lists an ESRB Mature rating. Read the developer's content warnings before buying if those themes are a concern. Players wanting a dialogue-led, branching horror story have a clearer reason to consider the discount than those looking for fast-paced combat.
